But the term was used mostly in WW2 by the Soviet Red Army and the Wehrmacht to describe the CLASS of weapons that were (usually) Mobile Artillery Pieces, Mortars, Bazookas, etc. In fact, the first "Assault Rifle," the German STG-44 would be the SMALLEST of any such member of that class.<br /><br />And since the BATFE won't allow me to have a LAWS Rocket, I never could understand how such silliness has permeated the Lexicon.Bubblehead Les.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00730873284089958084noreply@blogger.com
