Veteran's Day

Hey! I'm a veteran. A poor excuse for one, but still a veteran. Does that mean I can prop my feet up, kick back, and drink a bottle of beer today, on Ye Olde Armistice Day? I don't know if it means that, but that is what I am gonna do. My thoughts will be of other veterans, better than me.

  2. Thanks for your service.

Every hour of your service helped in its own way. It's the accumulation of the billions of hours from millions of people that have kept us safe. That have kept us free.

    Thanks.

Me too, in fact, I am probably even a poorer excuse for one than you...

6 months in the Guard keeping our coasts safe. I spent half a year as a swab at that U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Got two ribbons. And an honorable discharge courtesy of Calculus.

But my respects to all my seniors and juniors who've stood in the face of enemy lead to keep me and my family safe.

May God grant you mercy and safety.

  5. AH, not only a Veteran, but one that has the courage needed to stand up and be counted, to know the cost and ready to show the colors and the thanks of the grateful nation, the other part isn't worth worrying over. You are just perfect.

  7. You served. With honor and pride I'd bet. And you came way intact with some courage and some more experience.

You earned the day, and the cold one.

I reserve the right to delete patently offensive comments. Or, really, any comment I feel like. Or I might leave a really juicy comment up for private ridicule. Also spammers.

You can always offend hippies in the comment section. Chances are, those will be held up as a proper example...
