The point stands: I cannot buy a tommy gun, a tank, an F18, sarin gas, nuclear weapons, etc. weapons of war have no place in a civilian society. Laws can exist and should be exist and be followed to protect us all.

Not that is matters much, because I am sure the 2nd Amendment intended for the People to have 'access' to weapons of war, but the AR15 or even the M16 are not weapons of war. The police have those weapons. The police aren't soldiers. Who would the police be at war with, anyway? So those rifles aren't weapons of war.
He can, in fact, buy a tommy gun, a tank (even if an old one), and he's already part owner of F-18s and nukes.
ReplyDeleteWell, the US hates to sell it's old aircraft to civilians, but you can buy a Soviet designed MiG-29, which can give that F-18 driver a really bad day. Yeah, you generally can't arm it legally...
ReplyDeleteAFAIK, you have always had the right to own field guns and armed ships.
Yet another person who assumes they know the law who hasn't bothered to look it up.
ReplyDeleteRemember that Lexington and Concord happened because the British attempted to seize privately owned cannon and stockpiled gun powder.
