If I had a time machine I'd go back to 1979 and bring back some Trac II razors.
But I'd also go back to 79 BC and bring back an amphora of garum. Just to see what the fuss was about.
I had a buddy in the SCA who was a history prof who tried several recipes for making garum based on what archaeologists were finding.
ReplyDeleteA couple were good. Many were horrid. A few were horrid on their own but made what they were put in, sparingly, as a flavoring really pop.
Interestingly, at least one of those recipes came out very damn close to Worcestershire Sauce.
I always just pretend that Whatsthishere Sauce is Garum.
