Grocery Report

The good news.  Harris Tweeter had beef balogna for the first time in months.

The bad news.  No other meats and no orange juice.  Or Sun Chips, oddly.

  1. Florida could be in for one of worst orange seasons since WWII as plant disease spreads.

    Growers in Florida and the U.S. Department of Agriculture warned of a particularly low crop yield this year caused by inclement weather and a disease targeting oranges. The situation has grown so bad, in fact, that some worry it could be one of the worst seasons since World War II.

  2. Here in the promised land (Ohio), the shelves are not bare, but they are thin. And prices are up noticeably week on week. The price of water (by the gallon) has gone up over 33% from $0.88 to $1.20 in the last three months, for example.
