He wants a .223 style, but can't decide between a Mini14 and an AR.
I am pushing the AR.
He is disappointed .223 can't be used for deer hunting if he ever gets a chance to do that. Another reason to go for the AR, sez I... and I am intrigued with the .458 SOCOM uppers myself. A weird, perhaps impractical, perhaps soon to be orphaned round... But still interesting.
He still drifts back to the Mini14 for some reason, tho. He DOES look like Mr T. Maybe that's why.

Pam Bondi took what would seem to be a quid pro quo "campaign contribution"
from Felon^34 almost a dozen years ago.
So she is a better pick than Gaetz onl...

mini in 6.8 is an option too.
Mini-30 has the same architecture and can be used for deer hunting.

Uncle had a nifty 6.8SPC upper on an AR at The Rendezvous one year - that's deer-legal isn't it? And Remington makes an AR in .308 too.
I think it would be cool to build one in .30Carbine, but I'm just weird.
If he's gonna use the patented Mr. T shooting position he'll be able to realize the "inherent accuracy" of the Mini-14. IF he's gonna shoot the thing using the sights he'd be better off with an AR.
There are LOTs of rifles/carbines I'd recommend over the AR but the Mini-14 isn't one of them; by a damn sight.
Another thing Tbolt, magazines.
AR 30rds $12-14 from a dozen different manufactures.
Mini14 30rds $49-59+ for the ones that work and only from Ruger.
Of course, not .223 options are not .223. That said, once you have an AR you can caliber change with the swap of an upper.
I'd get an AR over a Mini just because of all the options for customizing.
The ergonomics on an AR whomp on the Mini as well.
There's way-more gun-bling available for an AR than a Mini14. And it's a Mini Garand in a poodle-caliber, not a MiniBlackTacticool AR with lasers.
I didn't know the A-Team ever used guns. I thought they beat all those bad guys with rotten cabbages, potatoes and buckets of paint.
