There is now a training requirement in Maryland. You have to take a class and shoot a pistol. One round. ONE.
And people are noticing there aren't that many ranges in Maryland. Some counties are bereft.
Though they include Howard County on that list. My range is in Jessup, and Jessup is in Howard.... Admittedly, on the edge of the county.

I noticed in the article you linked to the prices being charged by Gilbert's. Even though I expected "all the market will bear", as the law creates a monopoly position for scumbags, pardon me for my opinion, like Gilbert's, that's a bit much. OTOH, with the extra anti-gun laws in Montgomery County, there is also a bit of schadenfreude involved.
I think I'm going to keep inviting you to move to Texas until you write a blog post, "I'm so tired of being invited to Texas!"
Oddly enough, before I saw your comment, JT Oden, I had written something along those lines...
To be honest, it's better here (for firearm use/ownership) but it isn't utopian. Most of our counties feature CLEOs who are conservatively minded. However, as elected officials they are skittish about signing Class A's. They are of course over burdened and have limited staff. So, we can't get everything we want. Still, the offer stands and Texas is waiting for you and all your fellow Mary-landers.
