Heavy Pistols

One thing about the DiFi bill that's now.  She is going after big pistols.  Like ARs and PDW and semi-auto Uzis and whatnot

"assault pistols that weigh 50 or more ounces when unloaded," a ban on pistol stabilizing braces, and a ban on "Thordsen-type grips and stocks that are designed to evade a ban on assault weapons."

50 ounces, how?  That's, what, a little over 3 pounds?  No I don't think my 1911 is that heavy.  I wonder if it could be... Or made to be.

S&W model 500 with 8.38" bbl weighs 69 oz.

Is she going to try to ban revolvers?

So is NOT putting your M1A into a stock with an Ar-15 style pistol grip "An effort to evade a ban on assault weapons"?
And why not a ban on revolvers? A double-action revolver fires a bullet with each pull of the trigger, so it is a semi-automatic pistol with a non-detachable magazine of six (or sometimes some other number) rounds.
