So Liberals like to publish lists of gun owners. They say this is to alert people of dangers, but it's really to intimidate legal possessors and discourage folks from getting a gun of their own. It's a violation of privacy and is essentially a shopping list for burglars when names and addressed are posted.
They don't consider that lots of the gun owners are police officers. Have you ever noticed police officers aren't listed in the phone book? They don't want dirtbags they arrested that are out on parole to come visit their families. To discourage hoplophobes like ones in the MSM and in New York City and Chicago from publishing gun owner lists again you may want to ask them why they want to endanger police officers. Maybe THEIR names should be published and posted in police precincts. Oh, heavens no! The implied threat against people named and that they might be denied police protection is unthinkable! True. It's a 2 way street, though, hoplophobe. SO cut that crap out.
Or, we could just just publish the name, addresses, Social Security Numbers, and mother's maiden name of everyone that works at a MSM news purveyor like Associated Press. If gun owners aren't entitled to privacy, why are they?
Ok, but once the cat is out of the bag and, say, every Maryland resident that bought a pistol in the last 15 years is published. A very vocal a high profile shuffle would render that list useless. By shuffle, I mean buy and resell immediately some gun inventory. Yes it's expensive, all those extra transaction with taxes and fees and such, but it introduces so much gray area into the idea of the list as to make it worthless. Doing this in defacto gun-registration states like Maryland, even selling through a FFL out of state, also renders a registry useless. If you can't consider it useless already, now, for that exact reason.
In Illinois, to foil the list publishers and privacy violators, a big vocal drive to get as many people as possible set up with a Firearms Owner ID card. You have to have them to buy a gun there, but you don't HAVE to buy a gun. You could double the number of cards just by getting privacy advocates and rights advocates that like privacy but don't necessarily want to own a firearm. That's fine too..

The whole publishing of the names of gun owners just goes to show that the gun control movement isn't about guns, it's about control. They want to impose their lifestyle choices on the rest of us, and they don't care what means are used to do it.
I think the editorial staff's names and addresses along with explicit instruction of how to use Google Maps should also be published as well. Surely these "highly enlightened", smug idiots have nothing to fear. They should be proud to state that their address is a gun-free zone.
I'm so glad that I live in a State where I can walk into a Gun Show, go over to the "Not a Dealer" tables, see what has been brought to light, haggle, lay down CASH (no Credit Card Trace like you would be leaving behind if you used a retail store) and show my Ohio Driver's License and walk out the door (after stopping by my friends the Ammo Dealer and the Holster Dealer and the Body Armor Dealer) and be able to go to the Mall and commit a Homicidal Terrorist Attack on the Masses, just like all the Gunnies do up here every day, 24/7, and my name is NOT on a list. Gotta love those Gun Show Loopholes!
BTW, you do realize that if the Gooberment is shut down for any length of time, that we won't be able to exercise our RKBA and purchase new Firearms, because the Background Check System is deemed "Non-Essential"? So that means that whatever you have in your Personal Arsenal of Destruction, is all you have in case of a Level 4 Outbreak? I'd get some more ammo this weekend, just in case. Heard that CDC will be shut down, and we all know what happens to those Zed Viruses when there's no one in Isolation Gear to Stop the Spread. Talk Later.
You mean you are missing some items in your battery, Les? You only have 2 guns in your 3 gun system?
Let's publish a list of Gun-Free residences and work places.

Well, lets see. Remember, I duplicate my weapons so that the Wife and I do a "His and Hers", i.e. 2 is 1,etc. As of today, there are 2 Bolt guns for Counter Sniper/Hunting, 2 semi-auto Carbines for General Purpose work, 2 semi-auto pistols for EDC, 2 .357 Revolvers for back up/stash guns, only one 12 Gauge pump and one .22 LR rifle, but those are more for Hunting and Pest Control. Of course, my Buddies 1919 that you played with at the NorthCoast Blogshoot can be converted back within a day, plus he has some other toys stashed, and he's only 3 miles away. No Suppressed 22 pistols, though. One .22 Revolver on loan, but its trigger pull is horrible (Taurus), so we don't shoot it much. Plenty of ammo for each weapon, but of course, there's NEVER enough.
You're right, I DON"T have enough in my Personal Arsenal of Destruction. I'm so ashamed. But with this Economy, and the need to purchase food and gasoline.... But that's the main reason I'm going to Pittsburgh. I need to see and feel and price what's available now, and do any Upgrades if need be. That, and to consume some Adult Beverages and Talk some Treason, as Barry Fitzgerald said in John Wayne's "The Quiet Man". BTW, J.B. has my cell number if you need to get hold of me. Talk Later.

I think that actually happened to that asshole reporter down in VA a few years back. The guy had not just published CCW holder data, he'd compiled a searchable database that listed all of their personal info, including name & address.
Well some folks didn't take too kindly to that and spread as much of his personal info as they could all over the net. He wasn't too pleased.
