This was in Carrol County. AKA 'Cornfield County' AKA 'almost Pennsylvania.' It's rural, and NW of Baltimore. It's also the county where Hap Baker is.
I've wrangles my fair share of gophers. Never had to shoot one.

Around these parts, blocking traffic is self correcting behavior for animals small enough not to damage the vehicle.
Why shoot the damn thing???? It will either make it across the road or be turned into road pizza. I would like to see what the back stop was. Still no reason to shoot it. chase it off the road yes shoot it no.

Aggressive and charging. Unusually so. Might have just been horny and frustrated.
