Hand Owies

THIS is where the gun hurts me.

Doesn't matter if it's double action semi-auto, or single action. Right there in the spot where the nail meets the skin in the corner of the finger tip.

It doesn't hurt their during dry fire practice. I think it's the fact that there is a tiny controlled explosion, that is quite forceful, right there in my hand and that's just the spot that rubs the most.

Where do you guys get your owies? Anyplace different?

I should probably tape up on BIG range days.

The only ouch I get, is when I shoot my pocket gun - the P64. Hammer bite on the webbing between thumb and index finger hard enough to draw blood - about every third round fired.

Walther PP, slide bite. But only if my grip is too high. Everything else is pain free.

Nice wristwatch.

My K-22 has a serrated trigger and I know it's time to go home when the callous on my trigger finger starts to get all red and peel-y.

But how many rounds is THAT Tam? Don't you measure your .22 session is boxes of bulk ammo burned through vis round count?

Oh, yeah, you k22 also has those really tight cylinder holes to help with accuracy...

Hmmm...

The web of my right hand, right where the 1911's grip safety meets its mainspring housing. I could shoot .45ACP in that big, heavy gun all day, and that's the only place I hurt. The irregular surface of those two parts gives me a nasty, aching red mark. There's no way I could deal with a "speed bump" on a grip safety.

The Browning .380, of course, beats up my whole hand and forearm. They is not pleasant guns to shoot.
