The humorist Will Rogers could do a spot-on imitation of Coolidge's voice. On one occasion he gave a parody "State of the Union" speech that had many in his audience thinking that he actually had Coolidge in the radio studio with him. He was forced to call the White House to apologize. Despite the squabble, Rogers and Coolidge were friends, and Coolidge sent Rogers on several goodwill tours, most memorably to Central America with Charles Lindbergh.
