I need to get with MBtGE and go scouting the hunting grounds again after this Hurricane is done and settled.
This time, bug repellent!
I like the tentative spot we have picked out. I have better long underwear, and good insulated coveralls too. Rubber over shoes to keep the dew from soaking my boots and freezing me feets, as well, worked well last time.

Enjoy the time in the woods... and Deep Woods OFF works well!
Ate a yummy venison roast last night from my first deer of the year. Taken at about 30 yards with a Bear Strike compound. Full pass through and he dropped in about 30 yards :-)
Best of luck to you, and if you are successful, I recommend the recipe below :-D
Abnormalists slow cooker venison roast ---
1 good sized venison roast
1 medium onion sliced in rings
1 can cream of mushroom soup (condensed but add water as directed before adding)
1 packet dry onion soup mix (leave dry)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 cups (16oz or so) liquid (use water, malty dark beer, or red wine)
6-8 redskin potatoes
If frozen, thaw the roast first.
Rinse the roast, put it in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle the roast with the onion soup mix, salt, pepper.
Cut the onion to rings, and put on top of the roast.
Pour soy sauce, liquid (water, beer or wine) and cream of mushroom soup over the roast.
Slice potatoes in half and put around the roast in the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 8-10 hours (average work day + commute for me)
enjoy. But not as much as I did.... man I ate way too much :-)
