My personal nightmare on this: they're going to try one of these 'catch the terrorist we're enabling' operations and the guy- having seen the news at some point- will either
Make sure he has a bomb that works, and they'll help deliver it(and deny all responsibility after, of course), or
Use them setting him up to set them up for an ambush.
