The most offensive thing the man has said:
"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen."

Worse than the Carter malaise speech.  In a just world he'd step aside, even now.  Just disgusting.

Even granting we all had "help", that doesn't mean that you therefore owe EVERYTHING YOU EARNED to the GOVERNMENT AS TAXES.
We all had a teacher or somebody, but we had to apply what was learned. I can only hope that as my SIL the Stalinst builds the business with her husband she begins to see what portion was help from others and government and what portion was the result of dint of her own labor.

Worse yet: He has got it exactly backwards.

This country became successful because of successful businessmen. They helped pay for teachers salaries. They created our system based on innovation. Who do you think paid the workers, who paid the taxes, that paid for the roads and bridges.

Successful people did that.

DESPITE government always trying to take credit and get in the way.
