I suspect that some people will be happy to go to work today just to get in air conditioning for a few hours.
Auto Store. 1,000W Inverter. Hook up to Car Battery. Start Car. Run Power Cord through Window to Fridge. Let it go for about an Hour. Repeat every 12 Hours. If you need juice for other LIGHT Duty Stuff like Cell Phones, hook the Power Cord to Power Strip and charge up the Little Stuff. When done, shut off car, disconnect from Battery.
Yeah, it's not a 10Kw Generator, but it works.
FYI: Have Gun Handy while doing so, just in case Looters want your rig.
Then a few months from now, buy a Real Generator that can run your AC.
