Sometimes, I wonder about, maybe, there might be some wisdom in the carrying of concealed weapons in No Gun Zones, despites the signs. There is some risk of getting in trouble, but there is also a chance you'd have a chance if the balloon every went up.
Now, I am, personally, a goody two shoe namby pamb Charlie Sierra Boy Scout, and would never do such a thing. No. But there are others otherwise law abiding toters, on the margins, that did that routinely, yesterday. And even more will start doing it tomorrow.

I don't know if this is true everywhere, but generally speaking if you are discovered to be carrying a concealed weapon in a "posted" business, you will be asked to leave the premises.
If you don't leave, you may be charged with trespassing.
That's the worst that can happen, except ... if your weapon is concealed, how will anyone know? The key is that if you're NOT concealed, there may be local and/or regional legal penalties to which you are subject.
i used to know a gent who carries any time he goes to Baltimore. i believe this would be a misdemeanor for a first offense. he does not have a permit (because Maryland). his reasoning? he'd rather sit behind bars for a bit than risk his life.
Depends on a few things
Are we talking carry where prohibited by law, or carry where prohibited by policy? If I were still a student I could CCW in schools / universities here legally, but it's a sure bet I'd be violating their weapons policy and would be expelled it caught.
Does you personal risk of being harmed outweigh the risk / possibility of being caught carrying?
What's the penalty for CCW without a permit? In DE it's now a felony (IIRC it might also carry mandatory jail time now, not sure)
I'm not saying go ahead and carry illegally, however, the average person could probably carry damn near everyday and never get made.
