This appears to have all the features I am looking for in an AR. And only $900 MSRP. So what's wrong with Stag Arms?
All Right, That's Enough

Most people agree that Washington, D.C. is a semi-evil clown circus,
or at least the parts that the fed.gov lurks in are. They start to

Nothing at all. Stag makes a fine rifle.
They buy their receivers from Lewis Machine & Tool just like every other quality AR manufacturer does. I'd buy one.
Stag makes good stuff. No worries.

Any idea what street price would be on that?
(Not that I could buy that particular example and bring it into NJ, unless that's not an adjustable stock)
No idea on the street price. Less. You'll end up going up to that $900 in mags and ammo, and more, at any rate, on the same shopping trip, no?
Very likely. You know the annoying part about magazine restrictions? The f'ing tinymags are as much as the factory ones. Which is no suprise, really, since the difference in material and labor is miniscule.
Not that I currently have anyplace I can shoot any kind of rifle bigger than a .22lr handy anyway. There are days I wish I had stayed in the land of my teenage years just so I could go to the NRA range regularly. Central NJ Rifle and Pistol is supposed to be a good club, but the costs are steep.
We have Stag lowers in our ARs. They're good.
The price can be as low as in the low to mid 7's. I have a local gun shop that will order Stag's with only a small fee. Being a lefty, this is the AR that I would buy and I really like the new forward stock. The Vuurvapen blog has comparative info on all AR makers and I think Stag rates OK..Not the top tier by his charts but OK.
Stag makes a great gun.... they were making great components for other major manufacturers for years before they produced their own rifle. They also make a rifle for another manufacturer to put their name on, but I'm not exactly sure which but I want to say S&W (dont quote me on that).
Anyway... they are a great rifle at a fine price point. I say pull the trigger!
Modle 3L has a left handed upper!

Stag Arms makes some fine rifles. Their claim to fame is ARs for those poor left-eye dominant folks. Those of use who are "normal" still have a wide selection from them as well. I love my Stag. Highly recommended - a quality rifle at a reasonable price, you can't ask for more.
As with others, I can say NOT A DAMN THING is wrong with Stag Arms.
There IS something at least mildly suspicious about a long gun with no sights however.
Our Models 2 and 2L are everything I want in a carbine...

Continental Machine & Tool, parent company of Stag Arms, would be surprised to learn that... ;)
