No, a typewriter. And not so new. It's from the 30's.
I have a thing about tools I use, be they woodworking, guns, or typewriters, or what have you. They should be younger than my grandfather (1906) but older than my father (1938).

Can you still get decent ribbons?
I found out from Marko... There are just half inch ribbons. If the spool doesn't fit you can wind it on the old spool no problem.
Ribbons have been pretty standard since WWI, amazingly.
I'm jealous. Did you find it locally or on the web?
Web. My town USED to have an actually typewriter repair shop next to an English Pub. I wasn't into typewriters while it was still open, sadly...
Nice machine!
Since I can't type I have a 1946 Singer sewing machine...just after they quit making 1911's. Would like a 500 Rocketeer model.
