Interesting look back in time, and these were the days where apprenticship was necessary!
I wish linotype was still around.
It's become difficult to find good alloy anymore.
My first real job out of college was assistant production manager in a graphic arts plant. We did mostly multi-color offset, but there was also silkscreening, letterpress, and die-cutting.
This On Demand Printing has been a real game changer, not to mention the Internet.
[And, what with the Civil Rights Act, the gender-specific language in the narration of that film would never cut it today.]
