Yeah, THIS is why I prefer to CCW instead of Open Carry.
Now if I was with a dozen other gunnies all OCing, I might reconsider. But that scenario rarely happens, But it might deter folks like the knucklehead.

Open Carry is not yet a "Common Practice", whether or not one thinks it should be. In the current environment, it is an In Your Face (aggressive) practice used to encourage popular acceptance of a Second Amendment Right.
It's not working.
It frightens the General Public, which considers the practitioners to be dangerous and aggressive persons.
It may never work.
One of the drawbacks to Open Carry is that not only the general public, but the criminal element are immediately aware of our armed status.
During an armed encounter with a thug, the thug knows which of his victims to shoot first. That would be you.
Then he takes your gun from your dead body and shoots other innocents. Forensic evidence suggests that you had been an accomplice.
But you don't care, because you're dead.
