When I went to the Phoenix Convention a few years back, my cheap orthopedic shoe collapsed.
Needless to say I bought better ones!

If I ever get to go I'd have to add a new cane to the good walking shoes advice.
caveat: good, BROKEN IN shoes. there is nothing worse than buying new shoes right before expecting to be on your feet for 8 hours+.
Even with Broken-in Shoes and my Cane, it was a little rough. Okay, so I'm wearing my Fuzzy Slippers and eating Tylenol like it was Jelly Beans, but you get the Idea.
Oh, BTW, DO LOOK into getting the Arizona CHP. I've sent off for the Application Packet. EASY QUALS, and only $60! And the Reciprocity List is Large!
