What?!

You use a 9mm or .38?  Are you some troglodyte that doesn't believe in science?  I bet you are an evil Glowball Warmening skeptic too.  Everyone knows that .45 is the way to go.  That's "more than 11mm" to you people that still wish Carter won in 1980.  Pfff.

You forgot my favorite - recoil flinching sissy with hands the size of a 12 year old girl. :)

Depending on the circumstances I daily carry either a 9mm makarov semiauto, .380 semiauto, or .38/.357 Magnum revolver. I STILL don't own a .45, though I'd love to pick one up some day. Really interesting article by Mr. Ayoob. I love reading his stuff. I'm pretty comfortable with the level of firepower I can bring to the event, though, should it ever occur.

Any study that used simple ball ammo is useless today.

Compare simple ball .45 used in 1915 with modern 9mm defensive rounds and the 9mm wins.
