altoid kits in video form
When I started this blog I stumbled across, and was fascinated by, a survival kit that was designed to fit in an Altoids mint tin.
Well, now there is practically a whole YouTube channel devoted to it. Neat.
But the thing that may be most useful... How to open a can without a can opener.

Ok, smart guy, how do you open one without a can opener or a knife, huh? Huh? Yeah, I thought so. Actually, that's a really good one I hope I never have to use.
Hammer and si- uh, thin chisel.
Let's just say that lid's not the hardest of metals. The real question is whether this technique would have helped the three men who had a can but no can opener in Jerome K. Jerome's "Three Men in a Boat?"

And lead sealed cans went all the way back to the Napoleonic Wars.
