Indy

In JMB's hallmark year, 1911.

This made me think of Farmer Frank. Love me some old skool open-wheel. I'd watch more if they reverted to 1960 era race car designs. Why not, they still race horses, and that technology is 1500 years old.

I'm trying to wrap my brain around the concept that these cars leaked so much oil on the track that dumping sand on the track increased traction.

Yeah, I'd concede SOME technological innovations...

Yep, a 'tad' messy in the running, and lots of flats and busted oil pans. :-)

And breathing Castor-oil physically makes you want to go take a dump, ask an old WWI pilot - oh right, none left...!
I've seen some incredible old pics of a Monaco-style street Grand Prix they ran in San Francisco in 1913 (?) through downtown on Market Street and along Broadway and out around the piers, with Eddie Rickenbacker racing in a huge old car... Insane fun!
