You hear stories about cops shooting at a badguy 34 times and one bullet actually meets the meat. If the cop is lucky. I don't want news stories of that.
You hear stories of a bad guy absorbing 6 rounds of .38 Special and sitting back down to finish his breakfast before going to the doc to get his new holes looked at. Same with 15 rounds of 9mm (maybe exaggerating...). I once saw a story where a guy took on some .40 and seemed unaffected.
Has anyone seen stuff where the holes were made by a .45 and the punctured individual shrugged it off for a good time? Like walk to the ambulance in cuffs? Links, maybe?
I've never seen those stories. Doesn't mean they don't exist.

Somewhere out there is a dash cam video of a Texas (?) cop who shoots a knucklehead in the belly with (what is described as) a .45. The offender doubles over, but remains on his feet. As I remember, it was within the last 2-3 years.
I read of a case of a bad guy who got a direct hit to the heart with a JHP .45 and he was able to get out of the car, move to the rear, open the trunk and reach for a shotgun before he collapsed. I want to say it was on Handguns or Gun & Ammo magazine back in the late 80's early 90's. It was the beginning of the discussion towards shot placement v. caliber.
What made the decision for me was witnessing a .45 slug being deflected by the bill of a baseball cap and transforming what it should have been a terminal shot into a headache for a dummy during a shooting class.
You can't put down what you don't shoot right.
From WWII, there are stories about soldiers fighting despite being shot by officers' pistols (45) and rifle rounds.
Please say it with me... All pistols suck!
The "An Alternate Look at Handgun Stopping Power" posted on the buckeye firearms association site is among the best articles I have seen on the subject. It is located here
As a "story" for you, my father is a retired LEO and saw where a rather larger gentlemen was shot with a .45 in the winter. The bullet went through his leather jacket, through is sweater, through his shirt where it gave him a large bruise.
Recently "Tex" Grabner made himself famous by posting a video of him shooting himself in the leg and as you can clearly see it would not have taken him out of a fight. Original Upload (Language)
An just for fun here is an article where a cop chases a suspect after being shot by him. You may notice that what caught his attention wasn't the .45 cal hole in his shoulder but the bullet that got caught in his sleeve.
All Pistol Calibers Suck! They are not magic wands.
Balloon is right, but it's ALL about shot placement...
Yeah. Tear duct.
Frank Gusenberg. 14 holes of .45 goodness and survived for 3+ hours. Or did you mean more recent?
.45?
Pick up a book of Medal of Honor citations and you'll read about guys fighting on after getting shot full of 8x57 and 7.62x39.
Yup. I recall a story on Sigforum about some suspect who took 10+ rounds of .45ACP and was still standing upright.
Not sure I can find it now though.
