I already like XDs, I've been hankering for a single stack polymer I'd like, and then Springfield comes out with this: XDS. It's not even up on the Springfield website, yet (as of Monday night).
This gun is right in my wheelhouse. .45ACP goodness, even.

It's like they read my mind. Of course I'll have to try it first.
The only thing that would have made it perfect would be a 1911 magazine. But it won't be that, certainly. Another detail is, I'd rather have 7+1 than 5+1 magazines, but that's not as big a deal to me as for most.
It all depends on how I shoot it, how it feels to me. We shall see.

Oh yes! After the mini-380s faded and before the mine 9s really peaked, Springfield SKIPPED the .40 and jumped all the way to .45!

I don't like the little levers. No gun is perfect, yet.
If Glocks were all that good, Springfield would have been in Chapter 11 by now.
I want one of these! I've been looking at all the "usual suspects" (e.g. LC9). Don't care if this doesn't change anyybody else's "game" it's damn sure changed mine.

I love my XD-45 (tactical) and it's still by far the pistol I shoot best. If (LMAO) we actually get CCW in MD, however, this is a problem as the 5" barrel and double stack 13+1 of .45 ACP hardly makes the thing compact for IWB or other forms of CCW (save perhaps a shoulder rig...not exactly ideal to have a cover garment in hot, humid summers). Having a pocket XD with controls I'm already intimately familiar would would be wonderful.
My EDC for shorts weather is a Walther PPS. If they offer extended mags like Walther does I will have a new year-round EDC. If they don't...aw heck, I'm still going to buy one. I've already got a pair of XDs in .45. Another in the safe/on the hip will be welcome.
