*UPDATE* Help.

To the post below...

I coulda swore I saw an overlay of a similar graph.  This one with a graph measuring the same thing but for Australia.  The line was eerily parallel.  Which is odd because while there are somethings about our two cultures the same, we are different enough that that sort of tracking is funky. 

I just don't remember where I saw it.

Has anyone else out there better memory than mine?  My Google-Fu has failed me.

I have submitted a request to the Australian Bureau of Statistics for the relevant data. I've asked for the total number of murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries, and arsons, plus the estimated population of Australia. This will allow me to build a chart with raw numbers and rate per 100,000

Then again, it is Mother Jones. They are against fun and common sense most of the time.
