I love coming home to find the nice delivery man has left me some heavy packages.
Stocks of my pistol ammo were low, and, while availability has recovered locally, the gun stores prices haven't come down at all. For bulk buying I trust to online purveyors, now.
So, where once I had darn little, I now now have a bit. .38, .40, and .45.

Reload, darn it! Range brass, cast lead bullets and a little work and you'll have more than you can shoot.
A man has got to know his limitations. And mine right now is "How lucky do I feel in having the attention to detail NOT to double charge a casing..."
That's why I haven't taken the plunge down reload way.
Remember: The only time you have too much ammo is when your house is on fire.
You mention .38. My Dad gave me my grandfather's (old) pistol, and said, "it takes .38, not .38 special". I'm having a tough time finding plain old .38 ammo. Do you have an online source for it?
