Discombobulated

I got nuthin.  Or very little.

Hey can anyone recommend a decent quality double barrel 12 gauge with exposed, external hammers?  I don't trust those internal ones.  It just doesn't seem safe.

If no one makes a decent double barrel for a reasonable price these days, what's a manufacturer I can look for on the used market.  I know you can get some OLD stuff out there that you might not want to use with modern loadings, and that's not what I'm looking for.

Why do you want a Double Barrel Shotgun for anyway? You drop one Zed, realize you have to face 20 more, and use the Second Shell for yourself? Repeat after me: "Shotguns are..."

Also, the old days of chasing Kids off the Yard with a Double Barrel are gone, since Master Eastwood showed us what Garands are good for. And since you have one...

Seriously, the only problem with the Hammer Guns are that they can sometimes catch on something, as seen in the Shotgun episode of Gunny Ermy's show "Lock and Load."

However, one can load it, SLOWLY lower the Hammers, and hang it above the Mantel (releasing the Spring Tension), and come back and use it 5 years later.

Enjoy.

THIS is why. Also, deer hunting.

Heck, you do not even have to ease the hammers on some models. I have a Baikal (sp?) Bounty Hunter II that lives close at hand. Those hammers do not have to be pulled back until ready to fire. I have a buttstock cuff with five rounds on the offside. The biggest hurdle to reloading is the automatic re-engagement of the safety each time the barrels are tipped. I have the information to stop that, and at the same time slicken up the gravel pit triggers.

Safety? It's got the hammers. What's it need a safety for?
