Scarcity

Has anyone beside me noticed that ammo isn't exactly back up to the levels it was from 2007 yet?  Why is it taking so long?  Oh it's lots better than it was, but there are still wide gaps in my selection that I haven't grown accustomed to.  .45 Hyrda-Shoks are nowhere to be found.

Also, I'm noticing fewer and fewer canned good in the store lately.  I haven't seen corned beef in any store for a couple month.  A bunch of canned fish type varieties are absent, too.  When do we panic?  When Spaghetti-O's and Chicken Noodle stop getting reliably stocked?  I don't like this.

Prices are going up and scarcity rather than none available is becoming the norm rather than the exception NJT... I think another year or two before ammo stocks are back to anywhere near 2007 or earlier levels!

Rising inflation is making itself felt now and this will reveal itself in ammo. It already has. With demand outstripping supply and supply still lagging, prices will skyrocket soon. It's already rediculous what you have to pay. I predict the training business is probably doomed with a lot of firms closing down later this year. I have already heard of this. Look at Clint Smith and Thunder ranch. Instead of holding onto his jewels of wisdom he is selling them on DVD's now for

Might be regional. No problem with food supplies and ammo, just prices up here by Cleveland. Heck, I'm getting a lot of 10 for $10 for canned food, and the only Ammo that seems to be light is .357, .45 and 30-06. You can still get it but only in Super-Dooper Self Defense and Uber Hunting Grade. Hard to find practise loads in those calibers. But 5.56 is starting to come packed in 55 gallon drums, it seems. Must be because Barry has made the Middle East such a safe place to be and the Ammo Makers realized that the good old days of selling ammo to Big Army at a buck a round has come to the end, and those warehouse fees are stretching the budget.

Look for Libby's Corned Beef in your canned meat aisle, Les.

remember us hoarders aren't bad, we're just making sure that everybody rushing to the store when panic hits will have one less person to worry about

I noticed that bulk beans are tin as well. Price is up on what's there. Might be worth a Costco run tonight.
