I was in high school, then. The guys and I had just bowled a few lines, and walked the mile-and-a-half home, in 100+ degrees (Tempe, Az.)then watched this on TV. Seems like yesterday...Thanks.
I saw it live on TV. Awesome. Engineering. Daring. Power. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the men who made it happen, and with some who went.
But it was 41 years later that we finally realized it was all to celebrate the unique contributions of muslims. Ignorance. Ineptitude. Stupidity. A country that stupid can now barely get a man into orbit, let alone to the moon. When will the country regress to eloi? (oh. never mind)
One of the best memories of my life, and I'm still pissed that I can't go to Luna City and retire there. Not one damn problem with the engineering to make it happen, and if we spent just 10% of the money we have wasted on "helping the poor and the disenfranchised" over the last 41 years on a decent MANNED Space Program, we'd be working on how to Terraform the Mars Colony.
To be confident and competent enough with a rifle to be able to hit anything I can see in a Jovian Thunderbolt kind of way.
To be able to defend myself with a handgun.
To perhaps harvest some tasty venison with either a rifle or a shotgun, any skin or antler is just a nice bonus, here.
And, if necessary: To Defend the Ramparts of Democracy from a Level 4 Zombie Outbreak or against the Jacobin, Rampaging, Godless, Red-Commie Hordes (or their modern equivalent.)
"You never select a shotgun as your primary anti-zombie firearm. It's great for onesy twosey, but zombies travel in hordes. The reload time is onerous, and the ammo, while effective, is heavy and bulky and short ranged."
Big Mistake for Her
If Ginsberg had let Scalia put the words "strict scrutiny" in Heller and Hillary said "Gun control is just not going to be a priority for my administration," Hillary would have been elected President.

NJT, I'm a little bit older. I was about to turn 4 years old and remember it well.
