Now it has struck me. It's Red Dawn but for them Antifa types. Drax is Powers Booth, but there are no good 'kid' characters to anchor the movie. The character development is sparse.
Instead of Cubans and Soviets, the bad guys are Libertarians from the Bible Belt, so... super Evil as far as them Socialist Antifa types are concerned. And they hold their own with Uzis they'd never shot before and shields made out of trash cans.
Oh, and in the end Antifa lost, really. If they win it is Pyrrhic. If the Texan separatist militias are pushed out the five Burroughs they left them is flames.
